The purpose of the Mentoring Advising Professionals (MAP) Program is to provide professional and skill development opportunities for undergraduate academic advisors to further professional goals through a mentor / mentee relationship. This is a program intentionally designed for academic advisors by academic advisors to provide growth and development opportunities for advising mentors and mentees alike, while increasing connectedness at the university and within the advising community.
Program Participation:
REQUIREMENTS:
Advisors who wish to participate in MAP are required to:
- Receive approval from their supervisor
- Submit a Mentor Application or Mentee Application
- Commit to working with their mentor or mentee for one (1) calendar year (August through July), meeting a minimum of ten (10) times during the year
- Attend the Orientation and Training session
Criteria to Apply and Participant Expectations:
2026-2027 Important Dates:
- August 10, 2026: Mentor and mentee applications open
- August 21, 2026: Mentor and mentee applications close
- August 31, 2026: Mentor / Mentee Orientation and Training
- January 26, 2027: Mid-Year Check-In
- July 30, 2027: End-of-Year Celebration
Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded a certificate. To confirm completion and certificate eligibility, mentors and mentees should use the MAP Program Self-Tracker and submit it by August 5th, 2027.
