Jennifer is a native Georgian who earned an AB in history and an MEd in social science education from UGA. After spending many years teaching high school social studies across the Southeast, she is enjoying life as an Athenian once again. Jennifer and her husband, Derek, who directs Innovation Gateway in the Office of Research, have one adult son who is a recent college graduate. Jennifer has been advising since 2014, and her most memorable experience at UGA was the launch of the Exploratory Center in 2016. Jennifer started college as an undecided student who was considering a career in the journalism field, but after taking a few college level history courses, she became hooked on history and declared it as her major. She considers education to be her life's work. Favorite past-times: Traveling, reading and hiking. Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw

Ali is a two-time alumna of the University of Georgia. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the Terry College of Business in 2012 and then a Master of Arts in Teaching in Career and Information Studies. Currently, she is living in Athens and loving being a part of the campus that has brought her so much joy. When she’s not advising students, you can probably catch her drinking her fourth cup of coffee at Walker’s, lounging on the north campus lawn, or watching endless amounts of the Office with her husband. Her weekends are spent praising Jesus at Athens Church, brunching at Big City Bread, and yelling “Go Dawgs” at any event she can. Favorite past-times: She enjoys spoiling her dog June Carter, laughing, reading, writing, painting, outdoorsing, traveling especially on road trips, going to concerts, and collecting entirely too many POP figures. Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw like my girl, Luna Lovegood.

Cindy Schulman is the Exploratory Center’s initial point of contact for prospective and transfer students at UGA. She also provides advising support for intended business, intended journalism and undecided/exploring students when needed. Cindy received a BS degree in Liberal Studies with concentrations in Mathematics and Behavioral Science from the University of Central Florida. She began advising at UGA in August 2012, after several years as a high school teacher and college adjunct instructor. Favorite past-times: Music and singing, spending time with family (especially her granddaughter) and friends, travel and trying new things.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Hannah grew up in south Florida and graduated from Berry College in Rome, GA with her degree in Sociology and Anthropology. For fun, she helped design hair and makeup for theatre productions at Berry, while also working in the costume shop. She loves special effects makeup! After Berry, she spent almost two years in social work as a foster care case manager, and then went on to pursue her Master’s in Higher Education Administration from the University of Louisville. While completing her graduate degree, Hannah participated in a study abroad program to Ireland, learning about academic advising at the NACADA conference in Dublin. She also completed an internship with the Office of Global Education here at UGA. Favorite past-times include seeing any Broadway show in NYC, traveling to Pennsylvania to visit family (traveling anywhere, really), and spending time with her super cute cat, Phoebe.

Raised in middle Georgia, Victoria has been in love with Athens and the University of Georgia since she arrived as a transfer student in 2002. Being a transfer student and having never had an advisor before, Victoria learned very quickly the importance of knowing who (and what) to ask about your academics! Victoria did eventually graduate in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in History and that earned her a job at the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences advising office front desk. After holding several administrative positions in student services, Victoria earned her Masters in Adult Education in 2012 and was hired as a departmental advisor for the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. After 7 years working with the Public Relations majors and the Public Affairs certificate students, Victoria left the University in early 2019 to care for a sick family member. After the loss of her family member later that same year, Victoria took some time to try something new. She spent 2020 working as a Substance Abuse Counselor and then started a podcast about kindness in Athens in 2021. In April 2022, Victoria returned to advising at the Exploratory Center for Intended Majors! Her passion for UGA and all it has to offer can not be understated! She believes in empowering her students to maximize their experience here at UGA while also helping prepare students to enter the workforce.

Katy is a Georgia native who comes from a big Bulldog family, though she completed her undergraduate studies at Furman University in Greenville, SC. She graduated in 2013 with a BA in English, and has worked in professional marketing in multiple industries across the region. She first came to UGA as a graduate student in the Department of Linguistics, where she studied the ways that different dialects are used in pop culture. She loves being an Athens resident, particularly eating at Cali N’Tito’s and exploring downtown. In her free time she enjoys reading classic mysteries, gardening, baking, and going on walks with her spouse and dog.

Jackie grew up in West Virginia and still loves cheering for her beloved WVU Mountaineers. She graduated from Frostburg State University with a BA in Psychology. She moved to Georgia in 1991 and earned an MS degree in Child and Family Development (now called Human Development and Family Sciences). Jackie is proud to be a Georgia Bulldog and part of Dawg Nation. While waiting for college football season to start, Jackie enjoys binge watching The Office, Parks and Recreation, Friends, Frasier, and Forensic Files. She is always in the mood to talk about Georgia football or favorite episodes from her favorite sit-coms and movies. Jackie and her husband, Shawn, have one adult son and a houseful of dogs (all rescues and/or foster fails). #GoDawgs Favorite past-times: Watching college football and waiting for college football season to start again.

Brad is an Intended Business Advisor for the Exploratory Center. He was born in Augusta, Georgia, and has lived in this state his entire life. Before becoming involved in education, he did a little bit of everything for work: driving a forklift in a warehouse; working in music retail (he loves music!); becoming both a writer and an editor; and finally falling into teaching. He spent almost thirteen full years in the middle grades, and has taught sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. He obtained a training license for teaching gifted students, but he always looked toward higher education as a goal. He is a father of two girls, and is generally known as "that guy with all of the piercings and tattoos." He is here to help and looks forward to working with everyone who needs some guidance!
