Do you have a question about Connect & Complete? Check out our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are listed below. For more help, contact [email protected].
How does my academic standing impact my financial aid/HOPE eligibility
Each student’s situation is unique so you will need to contact the Office of Student Financial Aid by email or phone (706-542-6147). (Note: a phone or Zoom call may be more conducive to productive conversation about your specific situation).
Who can I talk to about a total withdrawal or a hardship withdrawal?
UGA’s office of Student Care & Outreach coordinates care and assistance for all students, undergraduate and graduate, who experience complex, hardship, and/or unforeseen circumstances by providing individualized assistance and tailored interventions. Contact them at [email protected], (706) 542-7774, or visit their office at 325 Tate Student Center.
Can I appeal my academic standing?
Some students may be eligible for a retroactive hardship withdrawal. To start this process, contact Student Care & Outreach at [email protected], (706) 542-7774, or 325 Tate Student Center.
- After an Academic Suspension, students apply for readmission to the school or college of their desired major and must enroll in UNIV2800: Returning with Strength as a condition of readmission. You can view our College Contact list below.
- After an Academic Dismissal, students will be suspended from the University for a minimum of one calendar year. At the end of the suspension, permission to return to the University can be granted only by appealing to the University Educational Affairs Committee.

What is UNIV2800? Is it required, and how do I register for it?
UNIV2800: Returning with Strength introduces students to current research on how people learn, reviews strategies for engaging them in active learning, and develops strong learning strategies to be successful at the University level upon returning from Academic Suspension. The course is restricted to students returning from Academic Suspension, so you will need a Permission of Department (POD) to register. If you run into any problems registering, email your Academic Advisor.
How do I schedule my Degree Completion Team meeting? Who will be there? What should I bring? How do I prepare?
You will receive an email from your Academic Advisor with instructions on how to schedule your Degree Completion Team meeting. Please complete this intake form before the appointment. In the intake form, you will be asked to describe your goals for the semester, so take a moment to think through what a successful upcoming semester looks like to you.
How do I remove my hold?
Registration holds are placed after drop/add the next enrolled semester after a student has an academic standing of Academic Warning, Academic Probation, or Academic Suspension. For students on Academic Warning, book an Academic Coaching appointment on SAGE. For students on Academic Probation / Suspension, email your Academic Advisor for instructions.
Can I use transient or transfer coursework to improve my GPA and academic standing?
Your academic standing is based on your UGA cumulative GPA (the average of all grades earned in University of Georgia residence). Coursework completed / grades earned at another institution will not impact this GPA or your academic standing at UGA.
